Introducing the Aqua Echo Analog 600 Delay! Based on the Boss DM-2 and Way Huge Aqua Puss from the 70s and early 2000s, but with twice the delay time – 600ms, modulation, and some Madbean sprinkles! It features modulation for adding chorusing like a tape delay, creating a dreamy and warm sound. This is not a modern digital pristine quiet delay with 1/16 notes; it is very old school with fat, warm repeats and some artifacts. It comes with two MN3005 chips, which cost $50 each. I have had these chips for almost 25 years, having built a 300ms version in 2002. It produces a very dreamy, Floyd-like tone with rumbles and shifting, a glorious old school sound – when old school was new school, and new was better!

    Review of Aqua Echo

The pedal arrived a few days ago. Love it. My other delays are (1) Analogman ARDx20, (2) Jam delay llama, TC 2290 (3) Analogman modded DMM. I've also had an aqua puss but ended up selling it in a consolidation. All the above are greatl, but I have to say that the aqua echo is the one I'll play the most going forward. Yes, the repeats on the aqua echo will be described as dark, and, as Analog Mike says, its pretty straightforward to make an analog delay with dark repeats as it's the noise filtering that's a major challenge to brighten them up. But the aqua echo is much more than just dark repeats: the overall base voicing is perfect, with exactly the right amount of modulation on the "normal" modulation setting. This is a plug-and-play delay that you don't have to spend lots of time bending over and fussing over. The sound sings and it's got all the bounce and jangle that I miss from the aqua puss.
